6 Gluten Free Passover Entrees. Six Healthy Passover dinner ideas that are free of gluten, grains, dairy and legumes. From fish to beef, we have you covered!
Passover is here! Well, almost (tomorrow) but I know everyone who celebrates is doing a lot of the prep work and cooking today. One of the most common emails I get about Passover is asking for delish Healthy, Gluten Free entree options that are Passover friendly.
Let me first say that my family is mostly Ashkennazi, not regularly Kosher and while my parents observe “Kosher for Passover”, my family doesn’t. If you are Kosher or observing Kosher for Passover, you may need to substitute some brands from what I have listed in each recipe. With that being said, these recipes are all grain and gluten free. They are all dairy free except for some butter but if it is combining butter with meat, I’ll list a substitution before the recipe. Also, many reform and conservative Jews are changing what they allow during Passover so if you are hosting guests, it’s a good idea to have multiple options or a conversation about it to see where they stand.
I combed through my database to find what I think are six easy and fabulous gluten free Passover friendly entrees that span from fish to chicken to beef so there is truly something for everyone. Without further adieu, let’s start with fish!
CITRUS AND HERB OVEN POACHED SALMON
This Citrus and Herb Oven Poached Salmon is perfect for Spring, an easy Passover Seder entree and ideal for those at your table who don’t eat other animal proteins. You should use homemade or clearly marked Kosher for Passover broth to stay compliant.
SALT CRUST ROASTED CHICKEN
Salt Crust Roasted Chicken is impressive on the table, super moist and makes for great Seder conversation. The only change you need to make is to omit the butter and use an acceptable for Passover fat. You could use olive oil or even chicken fat, just refrigerate the fat in advance so it’s in a solid and spreadable form more similar to butter.
CREAMY PAPRIKA CHICKEN SKILLET
One of the most popular chicken dishes on my site and for good reason, this Creamy Paprika Chicken Skillet is so flavorful! Naturally grain, gluten and dairy free, you just need to make sure your other ingredients are Kosher for Passover. Serve over cauliflower rice!
BEAN FREE BEEF CHILI WITH BUTTERNUT SQUASH
If you want to switch it up this Passover, make my legume free, gluten free and naturally dairy free Beef Chili with Butternut Squash. Just DON’T put the yogurt or sour cream on top ;). The best part is that you can make this in advance and just defrost to serve!
PALEO PASSOVER BRISKET (BASED ON MY MOM’S RECIPE)
It’s not Passover in my book unless there is Brisket. This Paleo Passover Brisket is grain and gluten free and based on my Mom’s famous brisket recipe. It’s so good. When I say that my husband looks forward to this all year, I am not kidding!
MINT AND HONEY BONELESS LEG OF LAMB
There are many Jewish people who do not eat Lamb on Passover. If you are one, look away! If you do eat Lamb at Pesach, then you definitley want to add this Mint and Honey Boneless Leg of Lamb to your menu. It pairs really well this Arugula Salad with Lemon Balsamic Dressing.
Hope you find these useful and at least one or more makes it way onto your Passover menu this week!
